The Empire Business Brokers to Business Brokers of America Transition
Empire Business Brokers was established in 1981 by Nick Gugliuzza. His business broker office was a large successful business brokerage located in the Buffalo area of New York. As his achievements and successes became wide spread knowledge throughout the United States; the demand for his business brokerage leadership began. Understanding the need for expansion, he accommodated his first request to open an additional office in 1989.
By way of a calculated and precise growth strategy starting in 1989 through 1995 Empire Business Brokers grew into an affiliation network of Business Brokers. In 1995 Entrepreneur Magazine, Success Magazine, Business Start Up Magazine, Business Opportunity Journal, all ranked Empire Business Brokers as the number one business brokerage in the country. This created the need to accelerate the expansion of business broker offices and its ultimate rapid growth from 1995 to 2005; creating an International Business Broker network.
Although approached by many publicly traded companies during the years of rapid growth of Empire Business Brokers; Nick Gugliuzza declined offers due to the lack of benefits to his business broker office owners and the company collectively. Then in 2005 he was approached by, yet another private equity fund to purchase Empire Business Brokers with a seemingly suitable proposal. Believing it was the right deal by the right company Nick Gugliuzza completed the sale with the private equity firm.
The private equity fund attempted to lead Empire Business Brokers for one and ½ years. For various reasons the transition of ownership did not result in the outcome expected. The private equity fund was unsuccessful in transitioning Empire Business Brokers into their structured corporate world. Upon the private equity firm’s cessation of their business broker activities the necessity and opportunity for Mr. Gugliuzza to form a new company with new ideas and fresh programs for the international business brokerage scene arose once again.
The formation of Business Brokers of America USA Inc. was completed in mid 2007. Nick Gugliuzza has successfully grown Business Brokers of America, in just a few short months, into an international chain of 33 affiliated business brokerage offices. His company has experienced rapid growth beyond his expectations likely due to his innovative approach to Business Brokerage and his concept of multiple profit centers.
Some of the former offices with longevity desired to stay with their previous structure and chose to keep the Empire Business Broker name. However most of the offices have chosen to use the expanded benefits and programs offered through the Business Brokers of America USA, Inc. network affiliation. Proudly and humbly, Nick Gugliuzza can say he is responsible for the start up of over 150 successful business brokerage offices throughout the world.
Nick Gugliuzza believes the ever evolving marketplace for business brokers requires the dedication and leadership that is provided by his newest company; Business Brokers of America.
